Designed and built to ASME code standards, the pressure vessels were constructed in 304L SS with a design pressure of 250 PSIG.  Requirements included restrictions on the origin of materials, full penetration welds (no back up strips), full radiography on the shell longitudinal and circumferential welds including all weld neck flange to pipe weld joints, ultrasonic testing of all nozzle connections, dye penetration testing of all accessible welds for the pipe nozzles and reinforcements, SA-240-340L shell (0.750 minimum), davit assembly, insulation rings, tank saddles, a heavy duty butyl rubber bladder, and high quality paint prep and exterior paint system.  The hydrostatic testing specification set limits on the test water to not exceed a total chloride content of 50 parts per million.  The project included seismic design along with detailed documentation including an Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), Verification and Testing during fabrication, welding/NDE mapping, material certifications, and detailed documentaion through a Vendor Document Register (VDR).
